The Perfect Date Idea; Adventure Couples Sessions | Hawaii + West Coast Photographer
As a photographer I strive to give my clients a fun experience they will remember for years to come… My favorite thing to do is adventure whether its with friends or by myself, I will almost always want to go somewhere in nature and explore! Within the last couple years of my portrait career I started to really notice the difference between a short local session (which is still fun) and a adventure session with no time limit where I meet my clients or even road trip with them somewhere amazingly breathtaking with the purpose of taking some awesome photos and just overall having a good ‘ol time!
You do not need to be getting married or eloping in order to book an adventure session!
What is the difference between an adventure session and a regular one hour long session? The main one would be time- instead of feeling pressure to chase light and get every shot within the hour time limit adventure sessions give us that flexibility of having enough time to bond, hike/walk around, change outfits and not feel pressure to get everything in one hour. Connecting to my clients is SO IMPORTANT to me! Why? Because I am not just providing a service to my clients, but a safe space for them to feel like they can truly be themselves- whether that is goofy, silly, dramatic, loud, quiet, sensual… I strongly believe that when my clients feel more like friends than clients, that is when we get those raw authentic candid moments. Adventure sessions allow us to learn about each other without feeling rushed, it give us time for that guard to come down! My style of photography is really all about raw intimate moments shared between two souls, that’s what inspires me- and how could you expect every couple to feel safe to open up on that level in front of a camera within twenty minutes? Another key thing that sets adventure sessions apart would be the location! Maybe the mountains meadows call to you, hidden waterfalls in the forest or a dreamy coastal seaside… adventure sessions allow you to choose a location that calls to you and your partner without the limitations of staying local. Plus you get a day dedicated to a fun road trip with your partner and a fun photoshoot that is all about you two enjoying yourselves, snuggling up, laughing and having fun… I don’t know about you but that sounds like the perfect date to me.
What does an adventure session look like?
Well first we would start with you reaching out to me with whatever vision you may have in mind (whether that is a certain location, vibe or maybe you feel really drawn to a certain shoot that I’ve done and you would like to recreate something similar but unique to you!) then I would schedule a phone/video consultation so we can talk about all the details and customize the perfect package for you, discuss where we want to adventure to, break some ice and make sure I am the perfect photographer for you!
Once you are ready to book I will send you a booking portal where you can access the questionnaire, invoice, contract and client guides such as my what to wear guide! After the deposit is paid for we wait for the date agreed upon! In the meantime you can reach out at any point with any questions you may have for me.
When our day approaches we will embark on our road trip either together or separate; we will meet at the location and start hiking in (walking in if hiking isn’t necessary) if we will be quite far from the cars we will bring any outfit changes with us in a hiking back pack along with snacks, music and anything else we may need! We will spend the beginning of the session chatting, laughing and becoming friends- then we will go with the flow and take pictures along the way! I am a strong believer of GOING WITH THE FLOW! Because once we give up expectations we truly allow ourselves to be present in that moment without feeling pressure to just accept whatever comes our way! Going with the flow allows us to let go of stress and just enjoy ourselves!
After our session comes to an end and we say our goodbyes I will get your finished gallery to you within 2 to 4 weeks, your finished gallery will be available on an online drive where you can download and share!
My adventure sessions start at $750. I want to make sure you are getting exactly what you want in your session, once we chat on the phone I will send you a custom quote based on desired location, amount of time we may need to shoot and your budget. My adventure sessions last from two to five hours long, payment plans are available and all adventure packages include a full client gallery which includes anywhere from 150-500 images (quantity depends on session length and variety of scenery and outfits).
